“On Gold Pond” Sweeps SLT Awards


The Shreveport Little Theatre held its 17th annual Bravo! Awards Sunday evening, August 12, 2018 at Pizza Rev. The 96th Season membership voted on the awards that celebrate SLT’s actors and other volunteers.

Award winners include: Best Mainstage Production: On Golden Pond, directed by Mary Joris; Best Lagniappe Production: Thoroughly Modern Millie, directed by Laura Beeman Nugent and Adam Philley; Best Actor in a Leading Role: Richard Folmer in On Golden Pond; Best Actress in a Leading Role: Ginger Folmer in On Golden Pond; Best Actor in a Supporting Role: Jim Cowles in A Comedy of Tenors; and, Best Actress in a Supporting Role: Seva May in Picnic and Anna Maria Sparke in On Golden Pond.

Laura Nugent, SLTAcademy artistic director, presented the youth academy’s first annual Shelburne White Award for Academy Excellence presented to Duke Pierce for his dedication and work in the academy.

SLT board president Robert Alford presented the Board of Directors’ Award to Laura Nugent, the President’s Award to Dr. Mattie Mosley, and the President’s Award of Merit to John Daniel.  Dr. Robert Darrow, SLT’s managing and artistic director, awarded his Director’s Award of Merit to Mary Joris.
